God uses ordinary situations in our daily lives to reveal His extraordinary love and compassion. He chooses circumstances where we are least expecting Him to reveal His great love and convince us of His power and love. His desire is always to move us from skeptic to believer.

With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible. Matthew 19:26
Sometimes God does things that send shivers up my spine. I stand humble and overcome with wonder at the ways God reveals Himself in the affairs of daily life. I don’t believe in coincidence but, I am often a skeptic when it comes to miracles, a doubting Thomas professing to believe but drowning in doubt during the crises of life.
On a recent visit to Mayo Clinic, I posted a prayer request in my publisher’s Facebook group. Discouragement weighed me down like a millstone before I ever left home. How could I make friends in the waiting rooms of doctor’s offices? I expected a few likes, a few comments from authors I have hosted on my blog, nothing big. Surprise fluttered in my stomach like a giant moth when I received a comment from someone I had never heard of before.
My fingertips tingled with curiosity as I typed his name into the search line on Google, looking for his website, something about his books. My heart rate quickened when I discovered my publisher would release his book in a matter of months. Out of 124 authors, God arranged for me to meet one in a church two blocks from the clinic.
My friends were praying I would meet people, new friends, someone to share a meal with, and perhaps to share experiences. I was a skeptic, afraid of being disappointed.
My heart warms as I remember that Sunday morning. The author and his wife were kind and friendly, the fellowship of believers sweet. The pastor prayed for me before the service. They invited me to lunch. I felt welcome and at home, aware that I would spend eternity with these people who were strangers only moments before.
God is in the business of miracles. Scripture says He knows the paths we take. He goes before us and prepares a place for us. God knows our needs and the secret desires of our hearts. He hears even the weakest prayer whispered in a trembling voice and lacking hope.
Whatever doubts we struggle with, God wants to prove Himself more than able. He wants us to see Him at work, to open His rich storehouses of blessings and pour them into our quivering hands. Trust Him. He is worthy.

As a child of God, nothing is by chance. We may never know the reason, but there is always a reason 🙂
