I’ll admit it. I’m a bookworm. It’s incurable and quite irritating to those not similarly gifted. I can remember sneaking inside to read when my mom thought I was playing with my friends.
Did you know it’s possible to unload a dishwasher while holding a book in one hand? Books are like friends. You can never have too many, and good ones grow better over time.
I have wanted to write books since I was little. Dreams of writing stayed alive while I pursued a career in nursing, homeschooled my son, and filled the role of an avid soccer mom through my daughter’s college career. I am always happiest in the mountains, and I love taking my Jeep on 4-wheel drive trails in Colorado.
You don’t have to spend very long around me to discover my true passion of leading women’s Bible studies. I had the privilege of attending Bible Study Fellowship International for 14 years. I served as a Discussion Leader for 8 of those years and both my children were in the Children’s programs. When my son went off to college, I was invited to help begin a Women’s Ministry at what was then a small, non-denominational church. I started the first weekly women’s Bible studies in 2003 and had the privilege of leading it for over 13 years. Though I’m not leading a Bible study at the current time, that desire to teach and encourage continues through the devotionals on my blog and the spiritual message of my writing.
Early on, my love of reading led to writing stories and poems of my own. Eventually, I moved from writing a weekly devotional for the church webpage to my first devotional blog, 2MefromHim, offering Biblical Wisdom for Daily Living. My devotionals and poetry have been published at ChristianDevotions.us, The Secret Place, and the Stitches Thru Time Blog. I am also a monthly contributor to www.inspireafire.com.
Land of My Dreams, my debut contemporary Christian romance, is set in Scotland and New Mexico. It tells the story of an American college professor and a Scottish sheep farmer who must learn to leave loss and doubt behind in order to find lasting love and renewed faith in God. Within Golden Bands, my latest release, is the sequel, continuing the story of newlyweds who have no idea of the heartbreak and danger awaiting them on their supposedly peaceful sheep farm on the banks of Loch Garry, Scotland.
