Who Is Jesus?

God created man to live in perfect fellowship with Him. However, when Eve listened to the serpent and ate of the fruit of the Tree of Good and Evil, convincing Adam to eat also, they committed the first sin.

God killed animals to cover their sinful bodies, the first sacrifice. This formed a picture of the sacrifice Jesus, the Son of God would one day make to save all men. The curse of sin has passed from generation to generation, and even to the earth itself. All of creation was subjected to the curse for man’s sin.

Man can only return to a right relationship with God by accepting Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, as his Lord and Savior. Jesus said in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” He wants you to believe in Him and accept His forgiveness for your sins so that you can live eternally with Him.

One day Jesus will return and all of those who have believed in Him, both living and dead will live together with Him for eternity. 2 Peter 3:9 says, “The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”

You can accept Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord wherever you are. Here is a brief explanation of how to be forgiven of your sins and know that you have eternal life. The apostle Paul wrote in the Epistle to the Romans:

Romans 3:10 – “There is no one righteous, not even one…”

Romans 3:23 – “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”

Romans 5:12 – “Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned…”

Romans 6:23 – “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Romans 5:8 – “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Romans 10:9-13 – “That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. 11 As the Scripture says, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame.” 12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13 for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

God loves you and wants you to spend all eternity with Him.

Right now, wherever you are, you can pray to Him, confessing your sins, asking for His forgiveness, and accepting the death of Jesus Christ on the cross for your sins and you will be saved.

No matter how good you are, you cannot be good enough to please God. It is only by His grace that you are saved. Ephesians 2:8-10 says, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

The apostle John wrote in 1 John 5:13, “I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.
