Within the Candle’s Glow by Karen Campbell Prough

Within the Candle’s Glow by Karen Campbell Prough is a book I couldn’t put down. Karen was a guest of mine when her first book, The Girl Called Ella Dessa debuted. I have been fascinated by both and I know you will be as well. I hope you’ll take time to get acquainted with Karen and the unique southern historical fiction she writes! Rumors and Promises by Kathleen Rouser

Will the scandals of her past destroy his hope for their future?” Rumors and Promises is a lovely historical page-turner that will tug at your heart. This story of a single mother in the early 1900’s also has a deeper side, that of how ready Christians are to judge fellow believers and set standards no one can meet. Author Kathleen Rouser has written a beautiful story, not soon forgotten. Leave a comment to enter the contest to win a print or Kindle copy, reader’s choice! The Sanctum by Pamela King Cable

The Sanctum by Pamela King Cable is one of the best books I have read in years. A coming of age tale set deep in the Carolinas in the era of the Ku Klux Klan and rampant racism, this story of a young girl, caught in a web of abuse and lies will capture your heart. Neely McPherson’s friendship with an elderly black man is a heartrending story you won’t be able to put down. Please leave your comments, and sign in on the Rafflecopter at the end of the page for more chances to win a signed copy of this truly remarkable book.

The Bonfires of Beltane by Mark Fisher

Fans of historical fiction will enjoy meeting this week’s guest, Mark Fisher, and hearing about his debut novel, The Bonfires of Beltane. In today’s publishing world, it is not uncommon for authors with the same publisher to be unacquainted with each other, unless they meet at a writer’s conference. During a recent visit to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, I posted a prayer request on the author page for Lighthouse Publishing of the Carolinas. Much to my surprise, it resulted in an invitation to church and a new friendship. Fellow LPC author, Mark and his wife, Barb were a huge encouragement to me, as were the members of The Gathering, a church in downtown Rochester. Sign in on the Rafflecopter at the bottom of the page for a chance to win a signed print copy! We have extended the giveaway until midnight August 11th due to problems with the Rafflecopter!
